These three ingredients are not only healthy and detoxifying, but are excellent foods for this time of the year, as well. And, even better, you can enjoy each ingredient alone, all together, or incorporate them right into the meals which you already love. Keep reading to learn how to detox naturally with only three healthy ingredients!
Ingredient Number One: Raw Cabbage!
Raw Cabbage and other cruciferous vegetables naturally stimulate the body’s detoxification processes, which also promotes healthy liver functions. An easy and delicious way to eat raw cabbage and to detox naturally is by making a salad out of different varieties of cabbage. Then, include other veggies, such as nutritious greens, baby tomatoes and carrots, and a healthy, low-fat dressing to top off the cabbage!
Ingredient Number Two: Dark, Leafy Greens!
Dark, leafy greens such as raw kale, chicory and spinach are full of essential nutrients along with vitamins C and A. However, it is the high chlorophyll levels that help the body to detox naturally and to alkalize. Remember that to get the most out of fruits and veggies, it is always best to consume them raw. Therefore, salads are a great way to detox naturally, and you can add all three of these healthy ingredients to one big, healthy salad!
Ingredient Number Three: Beets!
Many doctors recommend eating beets when you feel sluggish and full. Beets contain a lot of fiber and are full of antioxidants. Furthermore, the extra fiber increases antioxidant enzyme production in the liver. This helps the body to eliminate toxins and bile more efficiently.
Many people don’t like the taste of beets, but you can add them to a smoothie or a salad to help combine the taste with other veggies.
As previously mentioned, try adding all three of these detoxifying ingredients to a daily salad. You can also incorporate them into healthy side dishes with dinner’s main course. Most importantly, however, always remember to eat as many raw fruits and veggies as possible. Cooking fruits and vegetables break down the nutritional value, and you will lose some of the vitamins and minerals which are found in the raw form.
