Thanksgiving Day is right around the corner! If you are trying to watch your weight, Thanksgiving can be really stressful! There is just too much temptation with all the delicious food being served! Who doesn’t like to pile their plate high at Thanksgiving dinner? However, there are some measures you can take not to gain weight on Thanksgiving Day!
~ 5 Easy Ways Not To Gain Weight On Thanksgiving Day ~
1. Plan A Post-Meal Activity Or Walk!
Plan this out with your family and guests! You don’t want to come across as rude, so make a solid plan beforehand! Is there an activity that your family enjoys? How about tag football in the yard or shooting some hoops? If not, plan a nice after dinner walk with everyone. The point is not to sit around right after eating and to work off some of the calories you just consumed.
Moreover, physical activity will help to keep you and everyone else awake and going strong!
2. Get Up, Move Around And Conversate!
I know that it can be hard not to sit around, watch football and sample some pre-dinner appetizers! However, instead, get up and move around more. The more you move, the more calories that you will burn. So, instead of sitting, stand up and watch the game and walk around the room to conversate with everyone!

Moreover, working out the next morning will erase any guilt that you may have for eating too much the evening before!
4. Volunteer To Clean Up!
A lot of us do this anyway, but for those of you who get shooed out of the kitchen or dining room, insist on helping! Do this before the evening walk or family activity for another way to stay active after dinner and to burn off some of those calories!
5. Eat Smaller Portions!
Of course, this one is hard to do, but we had to add it in! If you can’t stop from piling the turkey and stuffing high on your plate, at least stop eating when you are full!
